In order to find a contact outside the US I initially turned to Facebook. I posted that I was looking for two ECE professionals outside the US. I emailed friends that I knew that have friends and family that live in another country. I emailed friends that I also personally have that live in Saudi Arabia and England to request assistance. I made FB post on about 15 on FB pages for preschools all over the world. I also searched on Google and sent out emails to business addresses. My best friend shared my post on her FB page and her friend had a friend in Australia named Jodie that is a primary teacher (5-6 year old). I was very excited to have Christina from The Nursery School in Malta. Malta is an island in the Mediterranean Sea.
For the website I am going to explore The National Association of Early Childhood Teachers. I was very familiar with several others listed and wanted to challenge myself with a new website.

I'm impressed with the extent of your efforts! I will definitely be looking to follow your posts. My efforts paled in comparison just because I've had a difficult two weeks. No whining, no excuses--just some kind of negative electronic aura is killing my devices! I look forward to reading about your connections
ReplyDeleteRenee I understand. I have had a roller coaster of issues since beginning this program in March. Keep your chin up and just keep moving forward. Class is the one constant I know I have each week and truly have to apply myself
DeleteFacebook is such a fabulous tool for making friends and keeping in touch with people! I initially explored that website as well, but since we have a Head Start connection at work, I opted for that one instead. Looking forward to head about what you learn!!!
ReplyDeleteI am grateful I found a few contacts. Had another send me a message today. One did say find someone closer to your time zone. Hmmmm that is the whole point of me contacting you my friend.
DeleteI think I will reach out to my Facebook friends. That was a good idea. I am trying the UNICEF website first to see if anyone responds. I also pick a resource site that was unfamiliar to me. I think it is beneficial to explore and learn. I am looking forward to hearing back from other educators from other countries and also reading my classmates blogs about these educators.
ReplyDeleteFB has been a great resource for me. I have many friends that post interesting articles in which I have been able to use with citations for many papers. I look forward to reading post also and learning more about how other countries view and educate their children.
DeleteI think you brought another great avenue to finding contacts to the class. I have sent out for different emails and still waiting on a response. I may to reach out on Facebook as well. I cant wait to hear how this turns out for you. Good Luck
ReplyDeleteI didn't get any responses from emails so I turned to FB. It is the weekend in most countries and some said to reply to them again on Tues. I received an additional contact yesterday. I'm looking forward to the knowledge I receive and can share.
